SLEEPING BAGS & TORTURES.
THE PRIVATE DIARIES OF AN ADVENTUROUS SCOUT AND HIS SCOUT LEADER
Two diaries. One Scout troop. One very funny year.
"This is a great read, a hint of Adrian Mole...I laughed out loud throughout." Amazon review

ABOUT THE BOOK
What happens when a new Scout starts keeping a diary… and his Scout leader is keeping one too?
Alex has just moved up from Cubs to Scouts and is very excited about his new adventures. So excited, in fact, that he decides to keep a diary of his first year.
His Scout leader, John (Skip), has been keeping a diary for years. More recently, his diary has concentrated on Scouting — not so much the adventures, but the trials, tribulations and occasional frustrations of being a Scout leader.
While Alex records Scouting from a Scout's point of view, John records exactly the same world from the other side of the fence — including his sometimes strained relationships and dealings with Scout parents!
Sleeping Bags and Tortures is three stories woven together: the diary of a Scout, the diary of a Scout leader, and the hilarious story of one year in the life of 3rd Chislehurst Scouts.
From troop meetings and outdoor activities to a crazy summer camp in the Aosta Valley in Italy, Alex and John take us through a year of Scouting at its funniest, most chaotic and occasionally most surprising.
The book captures the spirit of Scouting — the friendships, adventures, mishaps and larger-than-life characters who make it such a memorable experience.
It is a book for Scouts, Scout leaders, parents, former Scouts and anyone who has ever been involved in Scouting or worked with young people.
This is John Hemming-Clark's second story book, following the successful In You Go! A Year or Two in the Life of a Scout Leader.
